New Year's Resolutions Check In
Friday, January 30th, 2026 06:09 pmWe have almost reached the end of January! \o/ By now, most New Year's resolutions that are going to hit roadblocks or fail completely have already done so. About 95% crash and burn before the end of January. If you're still going, you've passed the roughest part. If you're having trouble or you've given up, there are options.
Your Resolutions
How many New Year's resolutions did you make? How many succeeded? Failed? Ongoing because their timeframe is longer than one month? Did you make any changes? Add, drop, or modify goals? If so, how did that work out for you? How do you feel about your 2026 goals so far?
Remember that your goals belong to you. If they aren't working, you can fix them, or abandon one and replace it with something else. Don't beat up on yourself because the first thing you tried didn't work out perfectly. Just trying new things is a useful life experience that puts you ahead of where you were before you started. You can always try again another day. Even failure is useful information that helps you set better goals in the future. If you succeeded way beyond the goal, consider a more challenging one next time.

Eh, nobody's good at everything. You might need to search for a different method for small goals, or you may find that small ones just don't work for you at all. That's okay. Nobody's good at everything. Goal lists are usually a work in progress as you figure out what suits you.

>> slacked off a bit w our big snow/ice event and being homebound for 5 days straight. Ugh. <<
I think most folks had to take a break then, unless they had enough indoor goals to keep going. Things like that are why I diversify my list. Snow? Website updates! And trying to catch up the mountain of poems to post from the Holiday Poetry Sale.
>> But I did decent on my food choices, even if the scale is being obstinate 😠😠😠. <<
Nutritious food is still better than junk. It's a win.
>>I do need to get next week's planner set up done and catch up on the tail end of this weeks tracking.<<
Good idea.
