I don't know if Storystorm is "officially" happening this year (no sign-up info on the site) but it's a generative challenge, originally for picture book writers but now for anyone, to come up with 30 ideas in January so you can dip back into that bucket during the year if you start to run dry.
I don't see a #FirstDraftFriday 2025 launch post yet but they're active - the last #FirstDraftFriday 2024 post went up on schedule and there's nothing to indicate it won't continue next year. It's a challenge to write the first draft of a picture book on the first Friday of every month.
I've never participated in 12x12 because I can't afford the fees, but if you've got $200 to spare ($400 for gold memberships, only available from your second year onwards) I know some people really find it a valuable community with useful resources for writing, revising, and querying (and, hopefully, publishing!) picture books.
I've never heard of NaPiBoWriWee before but I'm definitely going to participate this year!
